My Approach

You may hear a lot about different approaches to therapy and what works when. The honest truth is that you are a unique individual with a personal story, history, goals, and experiences. Each of these things contribute to what therapeutic style and techniques will be the most helpful for you. You may have had previous experiences with therapy that were helpful or not so helpful. This, also, can contribute to your personal "recipe" for change.
I am trained in various psychotherapeutic methods including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Family Systems, Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT/Tapping), and various Depth Focused approaches such as dream analysis, active imagination, shadow work, and somatic mindfulness. As we work together we will dip into various modalities as they serve your personal needs and goals. For example, CBT provides wonderful strategies for managing anxiety in the moment and reframing negative thought patterns. Shadow work allows us to explore those deeper levels of why the anxiety has taken root and how to integrate repressed parts of our selves. Depending on your needs and goals, as you and I determine them together, we have many tools to create change.
We will begin by meeting once per week, for three weeks. This allows us to get to know each other, and for me to understand your history, patterns in your life that may be holding you back, and how I can be of help. Then, together, we'll determine the best schedule and means to move forward.
